Wow, where to start with Katie and Tom’s Bolton Castle Wedding. I guess their wedding is a perfect example of not being able to control the weather, they picked a lovely August date but the gods had other plans but it didn’t stop the party, the atmosphere or the fun. It was a brilliant day amidst the rain, strong winds and numerous climbs up and down the turret stairs, my legs were burning haha. Definitely got my steps in with this Bolton Castle Wedding.

Katie came to me through her mum; Lesley who I worked with for a number of years back when I worked in education. Lesley is the Head-Teachers Personal Assistant and it was lovely for her to pass my details onto her daughter and just really nice to spend the day with them. The day itself as prefaced above was a rather windy and wet day, the weather did clear up later in the day which is when we went out for couple portraits. I must have checked the weather app at least a 1000 times. Haha.

Tom looked ace in his kilt and I can confirm there was nothing being worn underneath; cheeky. I’ll not post the shot of Katie lifting his kilt up in the field exposing his backside. Though I was very tempted. Great to spend the day with John from Top Table Films too – always a pleasure and John even gave me my first ride in a Tesla. The power on them things is pretty insane. My lungs touched the back of my insides, like being in a mach4 fighter jet haha.

Anyway let’s jump into some of my favourite images from Katie and Tom’s Bolton Castle Wedding in Yorkshire.

“My husband and I are so grateful for the amazing photographs that Ray took for us on our wedding day! When looking for a wedding photographer we wanted somebody who would capture the authentic feelings and emotions of the day and wow! Ray really didn’t disappoint! He was so down to earth and enthusiastic, he really helped put the wedding nerves at ease and allowed us to just enjoy our day knowing he had everything in hand.

We had so many comments from our guests about how brilliant he had been and how down to earth he was. Booking Ray to do our photography was probably one of the best decisions we made… his photographs speak for its self, they’re just stunning. And he also makes a fantastic impromptu Master of Ceremonies for anybody who, like us, forgets to delegate that job.

I was absolutely blown away by the quality of all the photos we received. It made it so difficult to pick which ones to have printed because we honestly could have had them all! If you want a photographer who will be a real laugh, passionate about what they do and is incredibly skilled, then Ray is your guy.”
