A glorious summer wedding at Halton Grove!
Let’s start this by saying Halton Grove might be my new favourite North East venue. It’s superb, idyllic and the views are just lush. Amy and James’ day was an absolute beauty too. The sun was beating down and the new pergola addition to the south of the lawn was a fantastic space for the drinks reception. Loved the drinks being served from a cute potting shed. Very Nice.
I started the morning with getting to know the venue, so I arrived early. Half an hour look around and straight into venue photos and drone photos. Lush to see Vicky from Floral Quarters who did an incredible job with the flowers throughout and even gave me some off cuts for the flat lay photos, what a gem.
The newly built bridesmaids cottage was super cute for Amy and the girls getting ready. So much natural window light. I love the fact it has its own separate area and theres no chance friends and family will see you if you’re outside the front of the building which is where we did the first look with dad. Such a beautiful moment.
I love Amy and James. Clients who have become friends. Lush I get to work James’ sister next year when we all go to the Isle of Skye for her elopement wedding. Be so good to catch up with the whole family again.
There were so many highlights to the day. Amy’s dad dropping some morning make up sex references in his speech was priceless, Amy’s shocked expression was literally a picture. Im not sure if I included that photo on the blog but it was a great moment and the entire room was bad laughing. Charlie Whyte busting out the lush music all day and great to work with Adam Chetter on video too.
I don’t want to keep waffling on as there was just so much that happened and I cant say enough nice things about Amy and James so im gonna shut up and let you dive into some lush images from their wonderfully summery Halton Grove wedding. Enjoy!
Thinking of getting married at Halton Grove?
The owners of Halton Grove purchased the estate at the end of 2020 after beginning the search for an idyllic wedding venue location earlier that year. They were first drawn to the history of the site and particularly loved that it had been owned and cared for by one family for the previous 40 years.
Simon Glover, one of Halton Grove’s founders, said, “It was very important that we found somewhere that felt like a home from home where couples and their guests would feel relaxed as soon as they arrived. Halton Grove was and is perfect at achieving that sense of calm.”
Although the venue only launched in 2023, the team behind Halton Grove has a diverse wealth of knowledge in weddings, hospitality and business/project management. This experience has enabled the creation of a new and very different space in Northumberland.
Their three-day/two night weddings are fully catered for by Halton Grove and overseen in house by the well-renowned chef, Emily Botham. The quality and diverse nature of their incredible food has been an overwhelming success since launch. With the full team quickly assembled, the feedback from the first year has been beyond their highest expectations. – The Halton Grove Website
“We first met Ray when we were viewing a wedding venue in Northumberland in 2021, he was doing a pre-wedding shoot for another couple. The couple looked like they were having so much fun with Ray! We approached him and have never looked back, we booked Ray 2.5 years before our wedding and before we secured our venue!
We booked Ray for a pre wedding shoot in the Lake District, it was incredible! Ray knew the best time of day to go to the different locations based on where the sun was in the sky. We laughed from start to finish and had the best day with him, even creating a catch phrase we now use!! The photos were absolutely stunning, we got a real mix of portraits, statement shots and different scenery.
On the build up to the big day, Ray was always on hand to answer our never-ending list of questions and we had a final meeting to put our nerves at ease.
On our wedding day, Ray kept us both so calm and was basically one of our guests! He got on like a house on fire with everyone and even joined us on the dancefloor for a boogie! The photos arrived not long after our wedding and we are elated. Ray captured so many beautiful authentic moments throughout the day that weren’t staged. It was incredible to relive our wedding day through our photos, which will help us remember them for years to come.
Words do not express our thanks and gratitude. Ray, you have went above and beyond for us over the last 3 years and we are now lucky enough to call you a good friend. You were a pivotal part of our big day and helped to make it so perfect and I will forever sing your praises. We will cherish our photos forever and hope to have the excuse to work with you again in the future!
Thank you so much – Amy & James Spencer”
